Bronze Rods & Bars
Round bar and rod in phosphor, bearing, tin, aluminum, nickel-aluminum and manganese bronze grades.
Overview
Bronze rods and bars are the starting point for bushings, sleeves, shafts, gears, valve parts and a wide range of turned and machined components. Silver Bronze Engineering lists rod and bar in phosphor bronze, bearing bronze, tin bronze, aluminum bronze, nickel-aluminum bronze and manganese bronze grades.
Material selection depends on load, wear, corrosion environment, machining method and required documentation. Share the UNS grade, dimensions and application to discuss what can be supplied.

Grades and product combinations
Each combination has its own detail page with material notes, inquiry form and related grades.
Phosphor Bronze Rod — C51000A general-purpose wrought phosphor bronze with about 5% tin, valued for its combination of strength, fatigue resistance, formability and corrosion resistance.View details →
Phosphor Bronze Rod — C51900A phosphor bronze with a higher tin range than C51000, selected for greater strength and wear resistance in bushings, fasteners and spring parts.View details →
Phosphor Bronze Rod — C52100A high-tin wrought phosphor bronze offering greater hardness, strength and wear resistance than C51000 or C51900.View details →
Phosphor Bronze Rod — C54400A leaded, free-machining phosphor bronze developed for high-speed screw-machine production of bushings, bearings and fittings.View details →
Bearing Bronze Rod — C93200The standard cast bearing bronze: good anti-friction behaviour, easy machining and tolerance of marginal lubrication.View details →
Tin Bronze Rod — C90300An unleaded tin bronze with good strength, pressure tightness and corrosion resistance for valve bodies, bushings and gears.View details →
Tin Bronze Rod — C90500A harder gun-metal type tin bronze (about 10% tin) for bearings, gears and valve parts that need strength and corrosion resistance.View details →
Aluminum Bronze Rod — C95400The general-purpose cast aluminum bronze: high strength, excellent wear resistance and good corrosion resistance for heavy-duty parts.View details →
Aluminum Bronze Rod — C95500A higher-strength cast aluminum bronze with added nickel, used for heavily loaded gears, bearings and corrosion-resistant components.View details →
Nickel Aluminum Bronze Rod — C95800The principal cast nickel-aluminum bronze for sea-water service, valued for strength with strong resistance to corrosion, cavitation and erosion.View details →
Manganese Bronze Rod — C86300A very high-strength cast “manganese bronze” (technically a high-tensile brass) for heavy-load gears, bearings and slow-speed components.View details → Available forms
- Round rod / bar (solid)
- Hollow bar / tube blanks – subject to confirmation
- Square, hexagonal and flat bar – subject to confirmation
- Cut lengths and machined blanks – subject to confirmation
Available diameters, lengths, tolerances and tempers are not listed on this website and are confirmed per inquiry.
Selection considerations
- Wrought and cast rods differ: C51000–C54400 and C63000 are wrought; C93200, C90300, C90500, C95400, C95500, C95800 and C86300 are normally cast (continuous or centrifugal).
- Specify finish diameter and tolerance so a suitable machining allowance can be proposed.
- State required specification (for example ASTM) and the certificate type you need.
- Leaded grades (C54400, C93200) are unsuitable where lead content is restricted.
Typical applications
- Bushings, bearings and sleeves
- Gears and worm-wheel blanks
- Valve stems, seats and guides
- Pump shafts and wear rings
- Marine and offshore hardware
- General turned and machined parts
Application areas are examples only. Grade suitability must be confirmed for the actual operating environment.
