Bronze material family
Nickel Aluminum Bronze
Cast NAB for sea-water service, strength and cavitation resistance.
Overview
Nickel aluminum bronze (NAB) adds controlled nickel, iron and manganese to an aluminum-bronze base. C95800 is the principal cast grade and is extensively used for marine pumps, valves, propellers, seawater pipework and other parts exposed to sea water.
Performance depends strongly on foundry practice, microstructure and any heat treatment, so inspection and documentation are often specified.
