Bronze Rods & Bars
Aluminum Bronze Rod — C95500
A higher-strength cast aluminum bronze with added nickel, used for heavily loaded gears, bearings and corrosion-resistant components.
Product overview
C95500 rod is requested for high-load bushings and gear blanks. Heat-treated condition, size range and casting method are confirmed with the company on inquiry.
C95500 adds about 3–5.5% nickel to the iron-bearing aluminum bronze base. The nickel improves strength and toughness, particularly after heat treatment, and widens corrosion resistance in comparison with C95400.
It is typically specified when C95400 does not quite provide the strength or hardness needed – for example in heavily loaded gears and bushings, pump parts and valve components for corrosive service.

Material identification
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| UNS designation | C95500 |
| Material | Nickel-Aluminum Bronze (Ni 3–5.5%) |
| Alloy family | Aluminum Bronze |
| Alloy type | Cast copper-aluminum-nickel-iron alloy |

Where it is used
- Heavily loaded gears and worm wheels
- Bushings and bearings
- Pump impellers and wear parts (design dependent)
- Valve components
- Flanges and fittings for demanding service
Machining and fabrication
Machinable with rigid tooling; expect higher tool wear than for leaded bronzes. Heat treatment and weld repair must follow qualified procedures.
