Bronze fittings
Cast Bronze Fittings
Fittings produced as bronze castings and finished by machining, in a range of copper-alloy grades.
Overview
Many bronze fittings begin as castings: molten alloy is poured into a mould that forms the body shape, after which threads, sockets and sealing faces are machined. The alloy choice, the casting quality and the machining all influence pressure tightness and finished dimensions.
The specific casting process and foundry capability are confirmed by the company for each project; this page describes general considerations only.

Potential material grades
Cast fittings are commonly produced in leaded and unleaded copper alloys depending on the service. The grades below are the ones listed on this site; availability by fitting type is confirmed per inquiry.
- C83600 / C84400 – general fittings and valves
- C92200 – steam and valve service
- C95400 / C95500 / C95800 – aluminum and nickel-aluminum bronze
- C86300 – high-strength manganese bronze
- C89833 – lead-free option (verify)
Typical fitting configurations
Elbows, tees, crosses, couplings, unions, reducers, caps and plugs are common cast configurations. Complex or non-standard bodies are assessed against pattern and tooling needs.
Casting and machining considerations
Cast fittings need sound, pressure-tight castings with controlled porosity, plus machined threads or sockets. Wall thickness, section changes and machining allowances should be discussed at the drawing stage.
Dimensional requirements
State governing standard or drawing, size, thread or socket details and tolerances. Pattern or tooling requirements for custom shapes are confirmed with the company.
Inspection and documentation requirements
Typical requests include chemical analysis, dimensional inspection and pressure or leak testing. Which tests and documents can be provided is confirmed per inquiry.
- Material test certificate
- Dimensional report
- Pressure / leak test (if required)
