Nickel Aluminum Bronze
C95800 — Nickel-Aluminum Bronze (Marine Grade)
The principal cast nickel-aluminum bronze for sea-water service, valued for strength with strong resistance to corrosion, cavitation and erosion.
Grade overview
C95800 is the cast nickel-aluminum bronze (NAB) most often associated with marine engineering. Controlled additions of nickel, iron and manganese on an aluminum-bronze base give a combination of strength, toughness and resistance to corrosion and cavitation in sea water that few copper alloys can match.
It is widely used for propellers, pump and valve bodies, seawater piping components and fittings and other parts in sea-water handling. The alloy depends on proper foundry practice and, in many cases, heat treatment to achieve the intended microstructure – so documentation and inspection matter for critical parts.
Alloy family and identification
Cast copper-aluminum-nickel-iron-manganese alloy, UNS C95800, commonly referred to as nickel-aluminum bronze or NAB. Not the same as wrought C63000.

Typical mechanical properties
Mechanical property values are intentionally not published here. They vary with specification, product form, size and temper or condition and will be added only once the governing specification and condition are confirmed. Request the applicable specification or test certificate with your inquiry.
Physical properties
Physical properties (density, thermal and electrical data) are not listed until verified against an authoritative datasheet. Contact us for current reference data.
Corrosion and wear considerations
Strong resistance to sea-water corrosion, cavitation and erosion-corrosion when correctly cast and heat treated; generally good galling resistance. Performance depends on fluid velocity, design, microstructure and operating conditions – it is not guaranteed for every service.
Machinability and fabrication
Machinable but tough; use rigid setups and appropriate tooling. Welding and repair of NAB follow specific qualified procedures, often with post-weld heat treatment.
