Bronze Rods & Bars
Aluminum Bronze Rod — C95400
The general-purpose cast aluminum bronze: high strength, excellent wear resistance and good corrosion resistance for heavy-duty parts.
Product overview
C95400 rod is the aluminum bronze usually requested for heavy-duty bushings and wear parts. Availability of cast bar sizes and any heat-treated condition are confirmed with the company.
C95400 is the workhorse of the cast aluminum bronzes. With roughly 10–11.5% aluminum and 3–5% iron it offers a combination of strength, hardness and wear resistance that tin bronzes cannot match, and good resistance to corrosion in many fresh water, brackish water and mild process environments.
It is widely used for heavy-duty bushings, gears, valve parts, flanges and pump components. In the as-cast condition it is a robust, economical choice; heat treatment can increase strength further for suitable applications.

Where it is used
- Heavy-duty bushings and bearings
- Gears and worm wheels
- Valve bodies, seats and flanges
- Pump components
- Mining and industrial wear parts
Machining and fabrication
Machinable but harder on tooling than leaded bronzes; use rigid setups and suitable tools. Welding and repair require qualified procedures. Heat treatment is possible for higher strength.
