Bronze material family
Aluminum Bronze
High-strength copper-aluminum alloys with excellent wear and corrosion resistance.
Overview
Aluminum bronzes owe their strength and wear resistance to aluminum (roughly 9–11.5%) with iron and, in some grades, nickel. C95400 and C95500 are cast grades; C63000 is the wrought equivalent for rod, bar and plate.
They are favoured for heavy-duty bushings, gears, valve parts, flanges and pumps and in many corrosive environments. Higher hardness makes them harder on tooling and on mating surfaces.
