Bronze round bars cut to length showing machined end faces

Bronze rod and bar are the raw material for a very large share of industrial wear and corrosion parts. The grade you pick sets how a bushing wears, how a gear carries load and how a valve stem resists the fluid around it.

Matching material to function

  • Plain bearings and bushings: C93200 for moderate loads, aluminum bronzes (C95400, C95500) for heavier loads.
  • Gears and worm wheels: tin bronzes such as C90500, or aluminum bronze for high load.
  • Marine and sea-water parts: C95800 nickel-aluminum bronze.
  • Very high-load slow-speed parts: C86300 manganese bronze (check corrosion environment).

Wrought versus cast rod

Wrought rods (such as C51000, C54400 and C63000) and cast rods (such as C93200 and C95400) are produced differently and may be certified to different specifications. State which you need.

What to send with an inquiry
